Business Partner of the Month – Larkspur Landing Veterinary Hospital

Larkspur_Vet_CampaignAny pet owner will agree:  if your favorite animal sidekick is sick or injured, you want a vet who cares about your pet as much as you do. Dr. Mary Press, owner of Larkspur Landing Veterinary Hospital and multiple pet owner, has devoted her life, both professional and personal, to caring for animals and supporting her community.

Following an animal-filled Marin County childhood, Mary obtained degrees from the University of California and Tufts Veterinary School, and completed an internship specializing in small animal medicine and surgery. She purchased Larkspur Landing Veterinary Hospital in 1995 and has enjoyed watching it grow. Mary is particularly proud of the hospital’s personalized, high quality of service, and kind and caring staff.  Her clients (and their pets) always feel comfortable even in stressful and upsetting situations. New to the office is a veterinary ophthalmologist, available on Saturdays. As well, Larkspur Landing Veterinary Hospital is ideally located in the beautifully revamped Marin Country Mart.

Mary’s focus on caring for animals carries over into her home life as well.  She shares her Mill Valley home with her husband, Curtis (also a vet), their five children, and no less than nine pets. Mary feels her children find sanctuary in holding, loving, nurturing and talking with their many pets, which include: a desert tortoise, two Cochin hens; a blood hound pup a Golden Retriever, a parrot, two cats, a goldfish and a Bay Quarter horse that resides at Horse Hill.

Mary’s believes that Kiddo! is a large part of why her children love school. The orchestra program has been particularly meaningful to the Press family, as it challenged her children to learn multiple instruments and to compete in a state orchestra competition. Mary loves that her Kiddo! contributions directly benefit the schools. She also feels that the children in Mill Valley have a unique creative energy that should be nourished. As well, Mary contributes her skills and resources to the Marin community. She serves as Community Leader for the local 4H group, which provides hands on learning for children through animals and agriculture.

We are grateful to Mary Press for using her lifetime of experience to provide critical services for our beloved pets at Larkspur Landing Veterinary Hospital, and for providing her time and financial support to our children through community programs such as Kiddo!
