Business Partner of the Month – Speak to Me

Five years ago Mill Valley parents Jenny Terry and Tracy Barsotti had an aha moment.  Jenny recalls, “There are so many amazing, interesting and engaging women who live all around us here in the Bay Area, but with all of our family, professional, volunteer and other commitments there just weren’t enough opportunities for us to take time out to connect with each other.  We also felt we needed more time to get educated and engage on important topics that are meaningful to all of us.  We came up with the idea for Speak To Me because we really believe that the more informed and connected we are, the better we feel, and the stronger our families, schools, businesses and communities become!”

After a year of researching and talking to women throughout the community about what they wanted, the duo launched Speak To Me and created a place for women to come together to learn, explore new ideas, and feel empowered to make a difference in the world around them.  More than 40 speakers have already taken the stage at their events to share their wisdom, research, expertise and advice on a range of engaging topics, and they have had over 4,000 women attend over the past 4 years.  Now entering their fifth season, the Speak To Me team is excited about the caliber of inspiring speakers they have in store and plans to continue what they started – creating experiences that feel rewarding and worthwhile – inspiring and empowering the audience to think differently or do things differently than when they walked in.

This season, beginning October 28^th, will include four Evening Series events (at the Mill Valley Community Center) as well as the popular Lunch & Learn Series of more intimate daytime events (at Piatti Restaurant) featuring dynamic speakers who will address important topics including pursuing your passion in life/work, health & wellness issues and trends, children and the media, inspiring local leaders, and secrets to thriving at every stage of life.  Both Series’ include delicious food with the evening events also boasting a wonderful wine tasting reception, giveaways and plenty of time to mingle with presenters and friends – all the makings of a perfect night out!
