Business Partner of the Month — Kivu Consulting

Winston Krone and Kim Niquette are proud to be long-standing Kiddo! Business Partners and also the parents of two Edna Maguire students: Ally and Jasper.

Kim started Kivu Consulting in 2009 with the aim of having a challenging career that gave her the flexibility to be at home with her children. “There have been many times over the years that I have relied on the members of our community to make it all work”, says Kim.

Kivu has grown into a nationwide forensics and IT security firm that works with organizations to effectively prevent or mitigate data breaches. Pre-breach, Kivu provides risk assessments, training and IT security audits to lower risks. When incidents occur, they respond immediately and aggressively to determine if a breach has occurred, its extent, and ways to resolve compliance and regulatory issues. Kivu’s team members are certified experts in incident response and computer forensics, and have testified in state and federal courts.

Kivu has been pre-approved as a forensic vendor for most insurance carriers. We have proven protocols that allow us to respond to breaches with cost-effective yet “best in class” services anywhere in the US. These include proprietary tools for remote monitoring and evidence collection, and using a client’s own internal resources under Kivu’s expert supervision.

As a licensed California private investigations firm, Kivu is also experienced in conducting investigations into employee impropriety and criminal activity, including fraud and theft of proprietary information.

Kivu is headquartered with a state-of-the-art cyber lab in San Francisco. Kivu has additional personnel in Los Angeles and New York, and is constantly responding to cases across the US and overseas.
